Welcome Happy Lost Souls!
Heretic Party is a funny, awkward, and sometimes scary, audio program hosted by three dorks who grew up into religious leadership, then grew out of religion.
Three things happen here:
- The post-religious share and listen to stories about the wacky shit we all went through so that we can all have a good laugh knowing we are not alone.
- Those who were never religious can better understand their ex-religious friends.
- Together we can begin to expose the ways in which religion is twisted up inside our culture, politics, education, and media.
Episodes are released every other Sunday. If you are interested in joining the party, or if you have a story you want to share with the post-religious community, send us a message!

Christian Atley
Host, Editor, Producer
Christian Atley grew up in the beautiful and romantic Southwest, where he attended Penecostal, Southern Baptist, and Evangelical churches. His “christ-dentials” include attending frequent (and problematic) mission trips to Mexico, as well as summer outreaches to Panama and Nicaragua. He has been an assistant youth pastor (to the?) and church worship leader, wrote and performed skits and music for bible camps, and worked for two of the largest Christian, youth-mission organizations in the world. Later, he taught composition and literature at various colleges and Universities, and identifies as a humanist, skeptic, and agnostic who hopes to spend his life helping humans, and plans to not waste another minute on the idea of a god.
Joe Blablazo
Cohost
Joe is an artist and spaceman born and raised in the hot desert sands of west Texas. He grew up in a prosperity gospel Christian church, went to Christian school, and has had a variety of jobs and responsibilities across different churches. Joe’s relatively recent status as an exvangelical came about after years of questioning, soul searching, and eventually realizing that he no longer wanted to be associated with the bully culture of religion. He understands that while his break from the church was on his terms and relatively trauma free, that is not the case for a lot of other folks. Joe lives in Colorado with his main squeeze and cute cat. When he’s not hunched over, drawing scary monsters or silly comics, he’s probably searching the skies for aliens.

Lianne Collins
Cohost, Heretic Researcher
Lianne Collins is an “exvangelical” who attended private Christian school from kindergarten through 8th grade. She was utterly devoted to her faith and church to the point that she was absolutely certain she was called to be a missionary and Bible translator. She went on missions trips to Wyoming, Mexico, and Guatemala (and has incredibly mixed feelings about those now). She was a member of Awana, participated in VBS during the summers as both student and teacher, taught Sunday school to preschoolers and junior highers. In high school she was on the Fellowship of Christian Youth leadership team, and went to church, Bible studies, and Young Life six days of the week. After becoming sexual pariah and getting a secular college education, Lianne left the church around 2015 and hasn’t looked back since. Currently Lianne lives in Idaho with her husband and kiddo. She’s a poet and essayist, and she studied Creative Writing and Linguistics at Boise State University. She is obsessed with reading all the things, watching hockey, and playing video games with her family. You can find her on Twitter @Lianne_writes.
